Recipe from my favorite cocktail book at the moment– “Savory Cocktails: Sour Spicy Herbal Umami Bitter Smoky Rich Strong” by Greg Henry! I had no idea that salt could be such an interesting thing to add to cocktails. 🙂
? Aperol Tequila Swizzle ?
?2 oz tequila
?1 oz Aperol
?3 dashes grapefruit or orange bitters
?Pinch of course salt
?Grapefruit twist ice cube as garnish
Mix and shake all of the ingredients except for club soda and salt. Pour into a cocktail glass and sprinkle salt on the ice cube. I also rimmed my glass with honey and a chunk of broiled + dried grapefruit peel that I ground up in the mortar and pestle.
