Kumquat and Clove Gin and Tonic

kumquat gin and tonic

Here in NYC it’s been so hot and muggy that I overheard a coworker saying, “It feels like I’m living in a mouth!” 👄 When you take into account those NYC summer smells, a more accurate description might be an armpit. 💪Have I mentioned I do love it here? 😛 On the bright side, gin and tonics feel like they were invented for days like these… And thank goodness they exist because there’s not much that sounds delicious at the moment. 🌞💦💦💦🔥 This recipe comes from the @nytimes book of cocktails. Next time I might infuse the cloves for an even stronger flavor instead of just adding them on top. Dog glassware from @thebarkshop!

When kumquats are in season at Thanksgiving, i stuff a clean mason jar with them, add some cloves and top off with gin. Then I put away in a dark and quiet place till New years eve and make the best tasting GandTs with elderflower tonic eater and the flavored gin.
