When you’re a person that runs a cocktail blog and Instagram, people often ask me about my favorite cocktail. This is so tough because the thing I love about making cocktails is always tinkering with something new and seasonal. This drink though, it’s definitely in the top 3.
Last Thanksgiving we tried this cocktail for the first time from Julie Reiner’s book, The Craft Cocktail Party. It’s now a Thanksgiving staple for me and the best way to use the cranberry sauce. 🙂
? Port of Call ?
Prep Time 10 minutes
Servings 1
Ingredients
- 1 oz London dry gin
- 1 oz ruby port
- .75 oz lemon juice
- .5 oz cinnabark syrup (or cinnamon simple syrup)
- 1 barspoon cranberry preserves or cranberry sauce
Instructions

To make the cinnamon syrup, either add a dash of cinnamon to some simple syrup or add a cinnamon stick to the saucepan when you are making simple syrup to infuse the flavor when it's warm.
