Tinctures and infusions are one of my favorite ways to preserve and utilize unique flavors. This recipe below is used in my Pine and Tonic cocktail as well as my Noctorne of November cocktail.
?Douglas Fir Vodka ?
?3 handfuls Douglas fir needles
?2 small Douglas fir stems
?~700ml vodka
Blend needles with vodka and let sit for 4 days. Filter through coffee filter and keep in cool, dark place up to 6 months. (Or you can just let the needles sit in the vodka without blending.)
