When I was home in Indiana in June, I stopped by one of those gas station / liquor store combos in a teeny town next to my house in the country so that I could make my family some new cocktails to try. This liquor store is one of those shops with 3 rows of booze, 1 of which is totally dedicated to flavored vodkas. ?
So as I was walking through the aisles, it was super surprising to find a very old bottle of yellow Chartreuse ($40!) next to a bottle of Creme de Muir. I’d seen Creme de Muir mentioned in the NYTimes cocktail book so I picked it up. (Should have picked up that Chartreuse, too. In NYC a bottle will run you $60!) Thumbs up on the store-bought Creme de Muir, but it tasted very similar to this homemade concoction I made in 2014.
? The Bramble ?

- .5 oz creme de muir
